Info for Parents

Parents can play many roles in sport: current or former athlete, coach, fan, motivator, role model or critic. A few studies have shown that family members may influence an athlete’s involvement and achievement in sport more than coaches. Parents also are the first and most critical agents at socializing sports.

Parents and athletes need to manage their CrossBar accounts to ensure they get the most out of their Elk River Youth Softball Association experience during each sporting season. With their accounts properly configured, athletes and their families will receive communications according to their preferences and be able to complete registrations more efficiently. CrossBar has created a Team Management Guide for Parents and Athletes that will help our members with frequently asked questions about our website and mobile app.

Fundraising is a crucial part of the ERYSA program. Participation helps raise much needed money for the program to help supplement player fees for things such as equipment, field maintenance, umpires, tournament fees, coaching clinics and other costs needed to maintain our program. Checks will be collected at trouts. 6u players do not need to participate in fundraising.

Failure to sell the required amount will result in having your fundraising check cashed.

We are always open to new fundraising ideas, if you have an idea, please contact our fundraising committee.  

Fundraising information will be discussed at tryouts.

All ERYSA Families will be required to volunteer. Available volunteering opportunities will be posted once available. 

Some volunteer examples are below:

• Field Maintenance at tournaments
• Concessions at tournaments
• Set up/take down of events

Families are required to provide a volunteer deposit in the form of a check written to ERYSA. The Deposit amount is provided during registration. Upon completion of the volunteer hours this check will be destroyed. If the full requirement for volunteer hours is not completed by the end of the season, the check will be cashed. Volunteer sessions fill fast. They are first come first served. If all sessions are full, please contact elkriveryourthsoftball@gmail.com for additional volunteer opportunities.
